The Ultimate Way to Transport Your e-Bike

Anyone who owns a foldable e-bike knows how heavy and awkward they are.  Transporting them when you are RV’ing or going camping is a big deal because they take up a lot of space and are so awkward.

After many trials, we believe that we have found the best way to move these e-bikes around if you don’t have a bike rack.

Step 1:  Fold the bike, lower the handlebars and fold up the pedals (if you have that style)

Step 2: Tie a bungie or large rubber twist tie (any strap) to hold the folded bike together, otherwise the bike wants to open back up.

Step 3: Lower one of the bikes into a 50 gallon heavy duty tote.  We purchased the ones with wheels so we could move it around easier.  It must be at least 50 gallons for the entire bike to fit.  This also allows two totes to fit side by side in a short bed truck.

Step 4: My husband and I each grab a long side of the bin and raise it to the truck bed

Step 5: Put the cover over the entire bike and bin and we push them forward into the bed of our truck.

Since we have a bumper pull trailer, having the bikes in the back of the truck doesn't get in the way of any of our trailer needs.

Here are the details of what we used:
